Arianna Huffington

Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US. She is a writer from Greece, a syndicated writer of columns as well as a businesswoman. She founded The Huffington Post and the CEO of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington works as an author, philanthropist, television host and the owner of The Huffington Post. Her birthplace was Greece she moved to England at the age of 16 and was able to graduate from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. The well-known debating club The Cambridge Union was her first president and she took it when she was 21. Following graduation, she left her name as a conservative syndicated columnist and with the launch of The Huffington Post' few years later, she launched a voice-based website that gave critical opinions about the current political climate. Her fame led to the recruitment of a number of well-known contributors for posting their opinions on the news, politics and culture. Arianna gained fame after she decided to become an Independent Candidate for the California Recall election to succeed the Governor Davis. Alongside this, she led the Detroit Project to develop fuel efficient cars. In 2009 she was named by Forbes as one of the top female media personality, taking the 12th position in the listing and the following year, the Guardian listed her on the top 100 media list. In 2011 AOL Inc. bought The Huffington Post and made her president of that media group which included many existing AOL properties too such as Engadget AOL music Style list as well as Patch Media. She was the daughter of journalist and manager Konstantinos as well as his spouse Elli Stasinopoulos. While she was close with her father, the relationship she had to her mom shaped the course of her entire life. Even as a young girl, she showed leadership traits which she is still renowned for. As a 16-year-old, she moved over in England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. She attended Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she was a member of the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first woman and the only foreign president. In 1972, she earned a degree in Economics. After her graduation, she was a columnist-critic as well as a TV host. She also appeared together with Bernard Levin in an episode of Face the music and started writing books using his editing assistance.
